Michael and Tracy Woodring are the owners of Chicory, Nordhavn 46 hull number 6. We have been working towards our dream of retiring and traveling around the world on our ideal boat.This journey started a little over ten years ago when we made the transition from an open-bow ski boat to a 25 foot express cruiser with a convertible vee berth dinette.We were hooked.Sleeping and cruising on board a boat was in our blood. We immediately started making plans for expanding our knowledge with larger boats and larger water. This process brought us to lake Michigan and a 37 foot motor yacht, we spent two very short boating seasons on Lake Michigan and determined if we were to gain the experience we needed to cross an ocean we needed to move to a climate where we could boat year round and get the experience we needed to realize our dream. We sold our house and brought our 37 motor yacht with us to Florida, but knew we needed to move to an ocean capable trawler.After 3 years of research and looking we purchased a 1989, 46 foot Nordhavn.
